I stood there, on a little platform. Below me
100 meters of nothing, and then sounds of the waves crushing at rocks
some 50 meters more down. As Enzo the Bungee Master was strapping
velcro holders above my ankles and making sure and double-checking everything was tied and
buckled up, I was wondering if my right leg was trembling from climbing
down, or because of... Hmm.
§
I stood there, on a little platform. Below
me nothing, and then sounds of the waves crushing at rocks, way, way
below. In front of me sky and sea. Light weight of bungee rubber has
been silently inviting into the deep...
§
I stood there, on a little platform. Below me - nothing.
I felt something like fear oozing up my feet.
"Look at the sea", said Enzo.
I look at the sea. And the sea looks at me. It says I'm part of it now,
and it's good.
"And... jump.". Simply. That's how I understood these words. Uttered by
Enzo's lips, heared by ears of a day-dream. At that moment, something
that was me made connection with something that wasn't. At least until
then. I felt the world folding, "something" and "something else" became
the same, and I realized I'll do it. I'll, simply, jump.
"Like an angel.", I said.
"Like an angel.", confirmed Enzo.
And off I dove.
§
I was falling and falling and falling, maybe like a seagull, maybe
like a whale, maybe like a stone tip of a spear, or like a
grass-hopper. Falling into the dream, into the land of laughter, into
everything. Just falling, falling, falling, forever...
But then something pulled my legs. "What the..." Ooops, I'm moving up
now! Aha, that must be this bungee rubber-thing, it kicked in...
Oy-yoy-oy, hey, this is fun, I'm falling down again! And check out this
fucking big cave now! Man! Nobody told me there was a cave... So big! I
must howl!
So I howled... And laughed and swung, into the cave, then up above the
sea, into the cave, and around... Yahoo! I made it, I made it, I made
it!
There was just no time for fear. All I could do was to loose myself in
space...
So I did.
